Course Description:
This course covers the skills and knowledge required to undertake work using a side by side utility vehicle used for general transport, carrying loads, towing small trailers and mustering stock. All work must be carried out to comply with workplace procedures, work health and safety requirements manufacturer’s specifications and sustainability practices. This training course applies to individuals who work under general supervision and exercise limited autonomy with some accountability for their own work. They undertake defined activities and work in a structured context.

Our driver training instructors are also able to travel anywhere in Australia, to your location, to teach this course. There may be a Charge for travel when time spent travelling both to and from training location is more than 1 hour in total, and where there are mobilisation and demobilisation costs.
Course Pre-requisites:
No occupational licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.
The utility vehicle must be operated according to the relevant state/territory licensing authority vehicle licence requirements and regulations.

AHCMOM216 Course Structure
The AHCMOM216 driver training consists of:
- Sign-in and induction
- Classroom presentation and discussion
- Questionnaire
- Static practical lessons around the vehicle
- Hands-on lessons and assessment driving a four wheel drive
- There will be some self paced study.
The course is run with a candidate to assessor ratio of 3-1.

- Identify hazards and risks
- Defensive driving techniques, functional applications
- Driving on uneven terrain

AHCMOM216 – Practical Component
On the AHCMOM216 driver training you’ll be participate in 4 hours of practical training in a vehicle, covering the following subjects:
- Prestart and post operational checks, fault repair, securing loads
- Loading and unloading machinery
- Driving on public and unsealed roads
- Vehicle manoeuvring, start, stop, forwards, reverse
- Emergency braking on unsealed roads
- Driving on uneven terrain, up and down hills
